Next day, we checked out in the morning but left our luggage with the hotel at the lobby. They usually give you a luggage tag and place a green (at times red) net (with bells attached) over the whole lot of bags. Sometimes, they even tied the bags together with string before they throw the net over.
Luggage secured, we left for Yufuin with our onsen towels to enjoy our first onsen experience. We were in the onsen at 10am sharp (Just ask at Yufuin Station - recommended one not far from Yufuin Station that opened at 10am). Returned to Oita after lunch, picked up our luggage, and headed back to Oita Station to take a train to Hakata where we were to spend the night.
I forgot to take a photo of the breakfast, but it must have been okay. I know I took a couple of pictures at the poor breakfast at Toyoko Inn in Asahikawa (Hokkaido) just to remember it was a poor breakfast (to be exact - it was Toyoko Inn Asahikawa Ekimae Ichijo-dori). And I have long stopped taking photos of Toyoko Inn rooms as they all look alike. Even the bathrooms are pre-fab kind - can't be more identical than those. Seen one - pretty much seen all as we are always booked into Non-smoking double economy rooms. There was once a rare occasion where we were booked into a Non-smoking double room (either the economy ones were fully booked or the hotel did not have the economy version) - the only difference was the presence of a little round coffee table with two chairs.
